Design Action Collective, digital print, 2011, Oakland
On display through June 30th at Mercado la Paloma
For five decades, artists and activists have worked to advance environmental justice, fighting a war for the future of the planet. Posters give witness to a history of environmental struggles, prevent the issues from being forgotten by future generations, and show the vitality and importance of art in mobilizing social change. They reclaim the power of art to educate, agitate and inspire action.
Too Hot to Handle was funded in part by the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs, and the California Arts Council.
