CSPG's Poster of the Week updates an anti-Vietnam War poster/flyer to oppose the Trump administration’s federal invasion of Washington, D.C.

On August 11th, President Trump federalized the Washington, D.C. police department and deployed 800 members of the National Guard and other federal agencies including the DEA and FBI, to “re-establish law and order” in the nation’s capital. The occupation of D.C. appears to have been triggered by an attempted carjacking of the teenage DOGE employee known as “Big Balls” (Edward Coristine) by two fifteen-year-olds on August 4th.

Although violent crime had spiked in many cities in the wake of the pandemic, Washington D.C.’s violent crime is at a 30-year low. Residents of D.C. have organized and protested against the occupation, and Democratic lawmakers introduced a joint resolution to Trump administration for abuse of power by invoking the District of Columbia Home Rule Act of 1973.

Starting with his military invasion of Los Angeles in June, Trump is continuing to expand his authoritarian grip on this country. Trump’s critics are speculating that he is using this newest occupation of D.C. to distract the public from the overwhelming coverage of his connections to and cover up of the Epstein files in July.

It is worrying that history will repeat itself in another way. Militarizing Steal Brainrot Game a city like D.C. not only threatens its citizens, but also stifles the democratic spirit that America is founded on.
