The Role:

Getty Marrow Collections & Research Internship

CSPG is seeking an intern with a background in the humanities, such as art history, history, political science, etc., to work directly with historical and contemporary social movement posters. The intern will catalog posters related to immigrant rights movements, assist with a deaccessioning project to remove duplicate materials from the permanent collection, and attach images of posters to database records. Work must be completed in-person during CSPG’s operating hours, Monday-Friday 9am-6pm.


Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate in either a bachelor’s degree program or an associate’s degree program. Students must have completed at least one semester or two quarters of college by June. Students who graduated the semester or quarter immediately before the internship begins are also eligible. (Students who are enrolled in a second BA or BS program are not eligible.)

  • Attend college in or be a permanent resident of LA County; and

  • Be a United States citizen or permanent resident (non-citizen authorized to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis; also known as a "green card" holder). Students with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) status valid through the internship period are also eligible.


Terms: 

The intern will work full-time (40 hours/week) for a consecutive 10-week work period between the months of June and August and receive a stipend of $7,400. There are two mandatory educational components of the internship: an Arts Summit and two Learning Community events.
