Call for Posters - For an Exhibition about U.S. Presidents

The Center for the Study of Political Graphics is seeking posters, old or new and from any country, for a new exhibition, Presidential Rogues Gallery: Satirical Posters from the 1950s to the Present to premiere in May 2024. We invite artists, activists, and organizations to submit ASAP, no later than April 5, 2024.

Must have been produced as a multiple (such as offset, silkscreen, linocut, stencil); please no handmade, one-of-a-kind protest signs. For posters designed digitally, high-resolution files accepted ( TIFF, JPEG, or PDF).

The posters in Presidential Rogues Gallery have nothing in common with traditional electoral posters supporting one candidate over another. Whether mobilizing against war, criticizing social policy, or targeting hypocrisy, both Republicans and Democrats are targeted in the exhibition.

Posters raise issues and evoke passions the inspire protests and protest art. They serve to remind us that democracy is based on the right and obligation to dissent, regardless of who sits in the Oval Office. We hope that this exhibition will amuse, bemuse, and provoke. As 2024 will be a tense election year, we may well need laughter and a measure of irreverence to put the the political drama in perspective, as we wonder which candidate, and which issue, will be the first to appear on the next set of posters.

Please mail posters to:
